Yumeji Shimomura (下村(しもむら) 夢(ゆめ)路(じ), Shimomura Yumeji) is a former Chief of 7th Unit among the Anti-Demon Corps, but defected it after losing to Kyouka Uzen, and later becoming among the Devotee, serving under the Hachiraishin, being comparable to them.

Appearance

Yumeji is a young woman with a cruel visage, having shoulder-length black hair. Underneath her robes was her old uniform.

Personality

Yumeji is rather vindictive towards the Anti-Demon Corps, the most notable being the 7th Unit, aimed Kyouka, even targeting her fellow pupil, Konomi, because of that connection. In the past, she was rather confident and ambitious, aiming for the position of Commander. However, this single-minded has become a shortcoming in her Chief position, caused Yumeji to overwork the 7th Unit, even Nei, who was the youngest among the Corps. Because of this, Kyouka ended up fighting against her for the position of Chief, with the loser leaving the Corps. In combat, Yumeji can underestimate opponents, while having nothing but confidence in herself, which resulted in the reason she lost against Kyouka, and then Konomi.

As a Devotee, she no longer has any kind of emotional connection to her former comrades or race, instead showing to be a devote follower of the Eight Thunder Gods, targeting an innocent school friend of Konomi, going to avenge a fallen God. In addition to that, Yumeji is incredibly petty and egotistical, betraying the Anti-Demon Corps simply because Kyouka was made the chief of the 7th units due to forcing her team to work to the bone and crave powers, when she was in the Corps, she worked hard to become the Commander just because she wanted the authority, and later willingly serving the Eight Thunder Gods.

Synopsis

Background

Yumeji served as previous Chief of the 7th Unit, her ambitious side had caused her to strive to become the next Commander. At some point, she'd allowed Kyouka to enter her unit, the two having equal respect for their determination. However, the two got into a conflict, because she overworked their team, one of them being Nei, which caused them to fight for the position of Chief, which Yumeji lost. So, she left the Anti-Demon Corps, where she found by Shikoku and is now allied with the Eight Thunder Gods.

Powers and Abilities

Overview

Like other women, Yumeji attained a unique power having devoured one of the peaches from Mato. As the former Chief, she was powerful among the other women, but she soon left her Chief status to Kyouka, meaning she was at that time much weaker than her. Having joined the Eight Thunder Gods, Yumeji was experimented on, and received their power, in which increased her original powers enough to be considered as strong as one.

Peach Blessing

Imperium (暴君の勅令(インペリウム), Inperiumu, lit. "Tyrant's Edict"): Her Peach Blessing affords her telekinesis, influence the minds of others, making them to whatever she wants them to. It was empowered as Yumeji received power from the "Gods", being able to push Kyouka off Yuuki and immobilize Konomi. However, someone with a strong enough will can fight off her telekinesis at a certain level. She can manipulate physical objects, as shown when she uprooted and flung trees at Konomi.

Shuuki Powers

Electricity Manipulation: She is able to generate electricity as a result of the Eight Thunder Gods' blessing.

Healing: After obtaining Shuuki powers, Yumeji shows self-healing capability albeit it only shows healing superficial wounds and seems not to be instantaneous when bombarded with assaults by Konomi.

Flight: She has the ability to remain afloat and can fly.

Physical Abilities

Enhanced Strength: Courtesy of the Eight Thunder Gods, Yumeji's physical strength is easily in the realm of superhuman as she was seen contesting against Konomi, a physically powerful fighter.

Enhanced Endurance: Yumeji shows considerable resiliency, shrugging the physical injuries dealt by Konomi albeit she had to use her Shuuki powers to regenerate and gain the upper hand against the latter.

Expert Martial Artist: Yumeji was able to keep up with Konomi in close-quarter combat for a time, before being pushed back.

Equipment

Unnamed Staff: She can summon a khakkhara staff, described as a weapon of the Gods, which increases her electrical-based powers.

• Her name Yume (夢) means "dream, vision" and ji (路) means "path", as such, Yumeji means "Path of dreams/visions".
• Her surname Shimo (下) means "under, below" and mura (村) means "town, village", as such Shimomura means "under/below town/village".
