Vairocana (万物を総該した無限宇宙の全一, Banbutsu o Sōgaishita Mugen'uchū no Zen'itsu, lit. "The Infinite Universe that puts Everything Together") is the unique power, which was granted to Ren Yamashiro after eating a peach.
Description[]
After receiving the peach blessing, Ren awakened the ability to deploy mandalas to make use of the eight different abilities of eights Buddhas, which appears in her eyes.[1] It is often depicted as she holds her hand in a meditative hand position named dhyāna mudrā, manifesting several circling shining cards, which appears around a ring of light.
Most notable among other Peach Blessings, there are several things that makes Vairocana the most dangerous among them, is that she is capable of using two abilities at the same time, and she is the only person who knows what those abilities are. Additionally, Ren can place one ability in both eyes, giving it a power boost.[2]
Among the eight abilities that Ren has displayed thus far:
Flight[]
She is capable of levitation, and high-speed flight; making her chair float and move based on her will alone,[3] as well as covering vast distances in a matter of seconds.[4]
Shockwaves[]
She is capable of releasing powerful shockwaves from simply kicking, which is strong enough to penetrate another Mato Peach Eater, and overpower their ability.[5] A charged up kick generated a massive shockwave, which covered a wide area, being powerful enough to completely overpower Yuuki in his "Killer Fang" state.[6]
Clairvoyance[]
Ren has a very strong clairvoyance ability that allows her to see things at very far distances with a lot of pressure, She was apparently seen using this ability, when she was spying from a very far distance in the sky, how Captain Kyouka Uzen's power loan works.[7]
This clairvoyance, unlike the power of Nei Ookawamura ability, is in certain degrees, above hers, but at the same time below it in some areas, since Ren can't seem to use it to power through the solid objects, she can not quite use it to detect enemies in part or to search for a specific person.
Ability Cancelling[]
She is capable of channeling the abilities of another Mato Peach Eaters, once negating one's petrification,[8] and another time negating their partner's explosion.[9]
Teleportation[]
She can teleport people vast distances, teleporting one Mato Peach Eater to the bottom of a deep distant sea, which was a location she had prior knowledge too, and despite being inside of Mato at the time. Unlike Tenka's ability, Ren cannot use Teleportation on herself.[10]
Restoration[]
Ren can heal serious wounds on her body very quickly, erasing any scars present on it, but Ren cannot apply this healing to other people. It is strong enough to heal the wound caused by Kyouka Uzen's sword that reached almost her entire forearm while repairing the damage caused to her clothes too. She hasn't shown this ability as she never had to heal herself before.[11]
Trivia[]
- The stance that Ren takes when activating Vairocana is a meditative position named dhyāna mudrā, where one places the right hand on top of the left hand, palms face up and thumbs lightly touching; symbolizing the union and enlightenment of masculine and feminine in mind, body, and spirit.
- Vairocana is a reference to a celestial Buddha in Mahayana Buddhism, meaning the "Luminous" or "Embodiment of Light", leading those words enlightenment.
