Slave (
Description[]
Kyouka's unique power allows her to enter slavery contracts with any living being. To establish a contract, the target must submit (willingly or forcibly) to Kyouka's command. They will perform a gesture to show their submission, which is usually licking Kyouka's finger (in the case of Yuuki Wakura). Once established, slave contracts will last as long as Kyouka desires, or as long as Kyouka or her slave stays alive.
While under her command, slaves gain a boost to their innate physical abilities, such as strength, speed, senses, and endurance. In the case of Yuuki, his physical appearance changes drastically to reflect his increased power. A metal collar and chain will appear around the slave's neck, which Kyouka can use to control her slave's movements, or even ride on their backs if they are large enough. This allows her to use her slave as a mode of transport, or as a combat mount. The chain is extendable, and can be used as a makeshift weapon to flail and constrict foes.
Slaves can achieve full transformations by submitting to Kyouka, or through sheer willpower and mental conditioning (in the case of Yuuki). Prior to this, he was able to induce partial transformations by licking items associated with his master, such as clothing and footwear.
Lending[]
Lending (
While under another person's control, the slave may transform into a form based on or inspired by the new master. [1] They may also have different powers to use - for instance, Yuuki's form with Himari Azuma as his master is designed for speed, at the cost of not have as much strength or endurance.
Rewards[]
Once a slave fulfils a task or tasks for Kyouka, she must grant them a reward (
The reward granted to the slave usually depends on their innate, subconscious desires. For instance, most of the Shuuki which Kyouka had previously enslaved only desired to be fed as a reward, and so giving them raw pork was a sufficient reward. However, in the case of Yuuki, his rewards are more intimate and of a sexual nature, and usually involve close physical contact and kissing with his master.
If another person borrows Kyouka's slave, they are obliged to reward the slave, either alone or with Kyouka (if she acts as a concurrent master). [2][3] Like Kyouka, they are privy to the same compulsion, and cannot resist it by any means - even through using their own unique abilities.
Slave-Edge Sword[]
Slave-Edge Sword (隷刃の太刀, Reiha no Tachi, lit. "Sword of the Slave Blade") is a special technique of Kyouka's Slave ability, developed with Yuuki Wakura. By wrapping her slave's chain around her katana blade and concentrating, Kyouka is able to channel her slave's power into her weapon. This causes her slave to vanish, effectively fusing them with her sword. Yuuki must power up his original Slave form into its "Heavenward" form, in order to use this technique.
When Kyouka performs her next attack, she can resummon her slave from the chain wrapped around her sword, launching them at an incredible speed towards an intended target. This allows them to close distances quickly and attack at close range. Kyouka can also delay this attack, charging it up to give it more power and range.
Strengths[]
Enslaved beings have limitless growth potential, through repeated uses of the power, and being able to serve as slaves for other masters at the discretion of the original. Their strength is limited only by their desire to serve their master and to become stronger. In the case of Yuuki, his desire to become a hero was reflected in how strong he became, surpassing all of Kyouka's previous slaves in all aspects.
If Kyouka enslaves an intelligent being, she has the opportunity to strategize with them to fight more cohesively, as slaves will still retain their original personalities and intellect while under Kyouka's control. Kyouka regularly trains with and review Yuuki's performance as a slave, allowing both of them to improve as a team and develop new techniques to use in battle.
Lending out her slave is beneficial for Kyouka, her comrades, and even her slaves. It allows the MDF as a whole to be more flexible in combat, as the slave's form will change to augment or complement their new master's powers and abilities. The slave's base form under Kyouka also becomes stronger, as it will retain the muscle memory from its other forms under different masters.
Weaknesses[]
Kyouka's power depends on the sort of slave available to her. Prior to meeting Yuuki, Kyouka had to enslave Shuuki for use in combat. However, as the Shuuki are not intelligent beings, they have little power and potential to draw on. Kyouka also does not receive any physical enhancements from her power, making it necessary for her to train herself to be capable to complete her operations in Mato and engage in combat. These characteristics have resulted in her power being mocked in the past.
Kyouka's slaves will retain all traits while under her control - including any inherent weaknesses and previous mental conditioning they may have, which enemies can exploit if they have prior knowledge of them. This was shown when Yuuki's older sister, Aoba Wakura, called out to him to halt, causing him to stop his movement and be captured even while under Kyouka's power.
Kyouka must also retain control of her slave's chain in order to command her slave. If another party manages to grab onto the chain, that person becomes the slave's new master, as this fulfils the conditions of Kyouka lending her slave out. Lending out a slave is also physically draining for Kyouka.
Transformations[]
Among those Kyouka has enslaved, Yuuki Wakura has demonstrated the most diverse Slave Forms (
Initial Form[]
Yuuki's first transformation, with Kyouka Uzen acting as his Master. This is his basic Slave form upon which his other transformations are based upon.
In this form, Yuuki transforms into an anthropomorphic creature, resembling a cross between a Shuuki and a dog. He grows in size and musculature, and his voice also deepens. His head resembles that of a dog's, with a pointed snout and ears, sharp teeth, and bright green eyes. He also sports reddish-orange tribal markings on his chest and shoulders, and grows claws on his hands and feet. Yuuki's clothing also changes to resemble those of a mixed-martial arts fighter, with white forearm wrappings, black leather straps around his wrists (resembling manacles), and brown loose pants with multiple belts and a dark green loincloth.
Yuuki gains a significant boost to his physical strength, speed, and endurance, which allows him to engage the Shuuki on equal terms. He works in tandem with Kyouka to combat Shuuki of all sorts, and also serves as a combat mount to carry her from place to place. Through training, Yuuki has also been able to channel his power into specific parts of his body (such as his limbs or jaws), strengthening them for attacking or defending.
Yuuki's base form is an all-rounder, with no particular strengths or weaknesses in combat. Through being lent out to other members of the MDF, Yuuki's base form becomes stronger, as he is able to retain the muscle memory from training in his other forms.
- Great Cross Edge (
豪刃 十 字架 , Gōjin Jūjika, lit. "Great Blade Cross"): A combination move between Kyouka and Yuuki, while in his Initial Form. Yuuki performs a downward knife-hand strike, while Kyouka performs a horizontal slash. This creates a cross-shaped zone that deals heavy damage to its target.
- Slave Mount Fist (
隷 架 拳 , Raikaken, lit. "Slave Mount Fist"): A special technique in which Yuuki concentrates and focuses energy into his hands. This makes his fists tougher, allowing him to hit harder and counter enemy attacks by meeting them with his fist.
Whirlwind[]
Whirlwind (
In this form, Yuuki becomes more aerodynamic, with a sharper head and slender body. His attire also changes to resemble that of a stereotypical ninja, with red eyes, a long light-blue scarf, black armor plating on his forearms and thighs, and dark hakama pants.
Yuuki trades strength and endurance for speed, allowing him to move and react much faster than in his original Slave form. To make up for the lack of power, Yuuki adjusts his fighting style to be quicker and to incorporate more strikes on opponents for more damage.
- Branding (
烙印破 , Rakuin Yabu, lit. "Stigma"): A special technique of Yuuki's Whirlwind Form. By strengthening his legs and stepping forward while punching, Yuuki can focus his power into his fist to deal massive damage to a target. Using his enhanced speed, Yuuki can also close the distance between himself and his opponent to ensure the strike hits its mark.
Sparkling Stars[]
Sparkling Stars (
In this form, Yuuki's overall build becomes more rounded, and he has a leaner profile. His body is covered in armor, with a helmet that covers his head and the side of his jaw, and body plates with star motifs on his shoulders and knees. Yuuki's eyes are pink in this form. His backplate also takes the form of a seat, allowing Nei to sit on his back while controlling him.
Yuuki is much slower and physically weaker in this form. However, he gains a boost to his senses of sight and hearing, allowing him to scan his environment and perceive events or entities within a large radius around his current location. Using the same concept as "Branding", Yuuki can even augment his senses, able to see through solid objects and clothing,[4] and hear heartbeats.[5]
As Nei is much younger than the others, the rewards are much lighter, with things like kisses on the cheek and head pats as rewards.
Boulder Melter[]
Boulder Melter (
In this form, Yuuki becomes larger and muscular, gaining armor plating on his forearms and torso, and also gaiing square-shaped pauldrons. His attire changes to a pair of shorts, similar to those of a professional wrestler. His eyes also turn yellow.
Yuuki is much stronger and resistant to enemy attacks compared to his original form, but he is also much slower. Yuuki also does not gain the size-changing abilities of Shushu's Paradigm Shift ability while she acts as his master.
Through rigorous training, Yuuki was able to strengthen this form, becoming powerful enough to generate shockwaves with a single punch.
Phoenix Wings[]
Phoenix Wing (
In this form, he assumes a more avian form, having feathers across his body and limbs, with his face turning more avian, more than its usual canine appearance, and a pair of large wings.
Phoenix Wings focuses most on high-speed flight, making it suitable for hit-and-run attacks, surprise attacks, and assaults, while having much power and endurance. With the addition of Yakumo's Peach Blessing, Night Storm, this increases his speed, achieving speeds superior to the Chief herself.
Killer Fang[]
Killer Fang (
In this form, he assumes a form much closer to a fierce, aggressive, almost ominous jet-black hound with a leaner build, with sharp fangs, having spiked growths spouting from his shoulders resembling crystals, and a diamond-shaped indentation in the middle of his chest.
Killer Fang is shown to be one of the strongest, but most unstable, of Yuuki's Slave transformations, having high combat abilities, showing the ability to fly and track the locations of Shuuki, heading straight to their locations without the faintest order, and eliminating them without much effort. However, in this form, Yuuki loses all rational thought and would attack his Master next, leading to Ren fighting him to "teach him a lesson" instead of nullifying the transformation itself and showing the ability to heal himself from all possible damage, but it has its limits, are Ren defeated him with a massive attack before negating the form.
Differing from most transformations, Killer Fang leaves lingering exhaustion and pain from use, leading to him needing time to recover, with Fubuki Azuma needing to heal him using their special bodywork technique.
- Sacrificial Goat (
贖 罪 の山羊 , Shokuzai no Yagi, lit. "Atonement Goat"): A special technique of Yuuki's Killer Fang form. Yuuki can mark targets in an area for death, causing a symbol with open, fanged jaws to appear over their heads. By opening and then snapping his jaws shut, Yuuki can then destroy all marked targets, causing their upper bodies to explode as if they had been bitten off. [6]
Human Bullet[]
Yuuki's eighth transformation, with Fubuki Azuma acting as his master through Lending. Instead of Kyouka, it is Himari conducting the lending, using her own version of Slave copied through Learning.
In this form, Yuuki resembles a minotaur, complete with a muscular physique, bull horns, and a toga as his attire.
At the cost of some strength and speed, Yuuki's endurance increases exponentially, with his body gaining rubber-like properties. Regular physical attacks will bounce off him, having little to no effect.
Yuuki can also use his body's springiness to jump to great heights, and extend his limbs to increase the range of his attacks.
Roar[]
Yuuki's ninth transformation, with Mira Kamiunten acting as his master through Lending.
In this form, Yuuki resembles a motorcycle. His head becomes the front fairing and headlights, his forearms become the fork for the front wheel, and his legs transform into twin exhaust pipes.
While Yuuki is immobile in this form and requires a rider to move around, his strength and endurance increases considerably, enabling him to engage large groups of enemies easily. While in motion, Yuuki can emit a noise that lures Shuuki out into the open, exposing their positions. With a competent rider such as Mira, Yuuki can also attack enemies by roaring fire from his mouth, and by ramming into Shuuki.
While carrying Mira, Yuuki can travel at high speeds across rough terrain, and can sustain this form for long periods of time.
Champion's Garb[]
Yuuki's tenth transformation, with Konomi Tatara acting as his master through Lending.
In this form, Yuuki takes the form of a suit of plate armor. His head becomes the breastplate and shoulder pauldrons, and the rest of the armor plates cover's Konomi's cheeks, forearms, shins, and hips. Beneath the armor plating, the rest of his body takes the form of a black unitard, revealing Konomi's midriff.
Unlike other forms, in which Yuuki's movements are controlled by his master, this form effectively fuses Yuuki with Konomi, greatly augmenting her strength, speed, and endurance, and allowing them to fight together as one being. If Konomi is incapacitated, Yuuki can still attack independently by extending his head out of the breastplate and biting down on the enemy. While powerful, this form has the shortest duration out of all of Yuuki's current transformations.
Hidden Moon[]
Yuuki's eleventh transformation, with Bell Tsukiyono acting as his master through Lending.[7]
In this form, Yuuki gains a more regal appearance. He dons a flowing cape with vine motifs on the hem, and has crescent moon-shaped shoulder pauldrons. Yuuki's head also changes shape to be more reptilian, like a lizard's.
Yuuki gains the additional ability to turn himself and his current master invisible, though this is physically taxing and requires much effort. Their presence can still be felt, even after turning invisible. Bell notes that this power complements her own, Canopus, very well, allowing her to get close enough to an enemy to use it effectively. Komainu[]
Yuuki's twelfth transformation, with Varvara Pilipenko acting as his master through Lending.[9]
In this form, Yuuki becomes a giant mechanical warrior, with a bulkier appearance and metallic plating from head to toe. He also gains a long, forked tail, which he can use as a bludgeoning weapon.
At the cost of speed, Yuuki's overall strength and power gain an enormous boost. He also gains abilities similar to other giant mecha, such as generating a force-field which damages Shuuki on contact, and rocket-propelled fists which he can detach, launch and recall at will. Varvara theorizes that this form's power is determined by Yuuki's loyalty to Kyouka, much like her own. Unlike other transformations, Yuuki can maintain this form for as long as he concentrates on doing so without feeling fatigue.
- Light of Atonement (
つみほろぼしのひかり , Tsugunai no Hikari, lit. "Atonement Light"): A special technique of Yuuki's Komainu form. Yuuki produces an orb of energy, which deals massive damage to all enemy targets in an area. Varvara notes this power is especially effective against Shuuki.[10]
Blessed Rain[]
Yuuki's thirteenth transformation, with Haruno Kue acting as his master through Lending.[11]
In this form, Yuuki resembles a traditional healer, complete with long, flowing robes and a headscarf.
While Yuuki retains his mobility and endurance, his attack capabilities are completely nullified, making Blessed Rain unsuitable for direct combat. However, Yuuki gains special recovery powers which can affect a wide area. By rubbing his palms together, he can create rainfall which heals any injury it comes into contact with. Yuuki can use this ability to instantaneously heal himself, or any other party which he wishes to.
The healing powers of Blessed Rain depend on the severity of the injury - for example, minor cuts and bruises will consume less of Yuuki's stamina compared to serious injuries such as deep wounds and severed limbs. Yuuki can reattach severed limbs using this ability, but he cannot regenerate them. He also cannot revive targets that are already dead.
Combined Transformation[]
Yuuki can transform into more powerful forms with two masters controlling his chains, gaining the best qualities of each of his other forms with them as his sole master. However, having two masters is physically and mentally taxing on Yuuki and his concurrent masters.
Warcloud[]
Yuuki's third transformation, with Kyouka Uzen and Himari Azuma acting as his concurrent masters.
In this form, Yuuki resembles a Japanese warlord, with armor plating on his chest, shoulders, and forearms, and hakama pants with a thick rope belt. His breastplate has cloud motifs. He also has longer spikes on his head and a flowing white mane.
Yuuki gains a tremendous boost to his overall power, allowing him to take on hordes of Shuuki with ease. To fight effectively, Kyouka and Himari must coordinate their efforts in commanding him so they can use their other abilities most effectively.
- Howling (
咆哮撃 , Hōkō Geki, lit. "Roar Strike"): A special technique of Yuuki's Warcloud form. Using the same technique as "Branding", and inspired by his older sister Aoba Wakura, Yuuki can concentrate his power into his mouth. He can then release this energy as a destructive beam of energy, annihilating any Shuuki in its path.[12]
