Riu Myouga (冥(みょう)加(が) りう, Myōga Riu) is the Anti-Demon Corps' 1st Unit Vice Chief, but she was the former Chief of the Unit before handing over the position to Konomi Tatara.

Appearance

Riu is an aging but still strong elderly woman with graying hair with her hair tied into the back and dressed in the Anti-Demon Corps' uniform.

Personality

Riu is rather kindly and nurturing befitting a teacher, being the one who trained both Kyouka Uzen and Konomi Tatara, both of which she views as her prized disciples during the time of their instruction.

Background

Riu has been a member of the Anti-Demon Corps for several years, being the person who had trained Kyouka Uzen after her village was destroyed by Kidoumaru and as soon as she was discharged from the hospital.

Powers and Abilities

Overview

Like many other women, Riu attained a unique power having devoured one of the peaches from Mato. As a former Chief, it can be assumed that she was especially powerful amongst other ability users, being able to maintain her position for several years before deciding to voluntarily step down. But, one of the Chiefs, Mira Kamiunten stated that she is still capable of "dancing" despite her advanced age.

Physical Abilities

Master Swordswoman: Riu is shown in the past to have trained Kyouka who became a powerful swordswoman and, later on, a Chief in the Anti-Demon Corps. It is safe to assume she is very knowledgeable and experienced in swordsmanship.

Master Martial Artist: Riu is a capable martial artist as she was seen throwing a giant Shuuki into the ground. Additionally, she was the one who trained Konomi, a competent martial artist herself, and so it can be assumed she is very knowledgeable in martial arts.

Peach Blessing

White Mausoleum ((), {{{1}}} lit. ""): Riu's unique power that allows her to summon a dead person who is strengthened from the mausoleum she manifests besides her. Her own abilities are increased at the same time. In the case of her husband, a swordsman, he could slice apart the Shuuki summoned by Yumeji. There are other colors besides "White", but they haven't been shown yet.
