Paradigm Shift (玉体革命(パラダイムシフト), Paradaimu Shifuto, lit. "Imperial Revolution") is the unique power granted to Shushu Suruga after consuming a Mato Peach.

Description

Shushu uses Paradigm Shift.

Shushu's power allows her to change her size at will.

In combat, Shushu usually increases her size to gigantic proportions, gaining physical strength, endurance, and body mass to match. This allows her to fight on equal terms with the Shuuki, which are usually larger and stronger than the average human being. Shushu can also use this ability to create space when crowded by multiple Shuuki, by increasing her size and pushing against them. While larger, Shushu is also slower and a large target, making it difficult for her to react to enemies that are faster than her.

Shushu can also shrink herself, allowing her to spy on others and infiltrate enemy territories. She can maintain being small for a longer period than being large.

While enlarged or shrunken, Shushu can increase the size of her clothes so they grow with her body. When shrunken, Shushu can also shrink personal belongings such as her cellphone, allowing her to use them while her size has changed.

Shushu is also able to exert fine control of her power, and can enlarge specific parts of her body without changing other parts (such as her bust).

Limited Mode

Limited Mode (縛りモード(しばり), Shibari Mōdo, lit. "Binding Mode"): A special technique, practiced by Shushu in combat. By limiting her gigantification to periods of three minutes at a time, Shushu is able to focus her strength and power, at the cost of continued usage. Using her power this way allows her to fight at full strength against especially powerful enemies, while conserving enough energy to take on hordes of regular Shuuki.

Trivia

• Shushu's power literally translates to "Revolution of the Emperor's Power". This could be a reference to the changes in the importance of the emperor in Japanese governance, ranging from being an almighty sovereign ruler, to a ceremonial head of state without any real governing power.
