Jouryuu (
Appearance[]
Jouryuu is a tall dark-skinned young woman who has long light hair, black eyebrows that are cut rather shor. A pair of antler-like horns sat atop her head. A pair of elongated ears, and black markings that cover her stomach.
It is noted that she is rather naked aside from the white armor that covers her abundant chest, waist, in addition to gauntlets and greaves.
Personality[]
Contrasting her fellow Rairashin, Jouryuu is rather stoic and less talkative, never speaking aside from when Shikoku is talking to her. She tends to agree with most of what Shikoku says, as opposed to Rairen.
Despite her stoicness, Jouryuu is willing to humor her fellow Shuuki's request, playing along with Shikoku's antics and helping out with her plans. In addition, Jouryuu cared for her fellow Hachiraishin as seen with her mourning Kuusetsu's death and desire to avenge her. Jouryuu's love was strong enough to the point she willingly agree with Rairen's proposition, something she rarely does.

Powers and Abilities[]
As one of the Eight Thunder Gods, Jouryuu is one of the eight strongest Shuuki, considered one of the "Gods" in Mato, a testament to this, she overpowered Shushu, Himari, Yachiho, Sahara, Aoba, Kidoumaru, and Kumadouji using a single attack from stomping her feet. She and the members also has supreme reign over all of the Shuuki who inhabits Mato.
Physical Abilities[]
Immense Strength: She has immense strength, remaining unaffected after Aoba tried to free herself, then tossed her aside using a single motion of her hand.[1] With her strength alone, she is capable of tearing apart and easily defeating Yuuki's slave form enhanced by Ren Yamashiro.
Immense Durability: Jouryuu is extremely durable. She is capable of taking head on attacks from Yuuki's slave form and Ren Yamashiro, yet she still remained relatively unscathed.
Enhanced Reflexes: Jouryuu is capable of countering sneak attacks such as when Aoba tried to attack her from point-blank distance, the former instantly threw her away. Later on she showed her frightening reflexes against the surprise assault of her fellow Thunder God Naruhime and blocking it.
Flight: Jouryuu is capable of flight, because of the white wings on her back.
Trivia[]
- The name Jouryuu means "loam, lot, earth, soil" (壌) (jou) and "dragon" (竜) (ryuu).
- Among the thunder gods, Jouryuu seems to represent Tsuchi-ikazuchi (土雷, Earth Thunder), coming from Izanami's right hand and embodying the ground breaking thunder, in reference to her enormous physical strength (particularly in chapter 40).
