Ema Makura (万(ま)倉(くら) 江真(えま), Makura Ema) is a high school student Konomi Tatara's best friend. She later became part of the first unit.

Appearance

Ema is a teenage girl with short dark-colored hair.

She wears a standard female high school uniform and a fish-shaped hair clip.

Personality

Ema is a generally kind and friendly girl who is also somewhat promiscuous as she teased Konomi Tatara for thinking about kissing and even offered to kiss her.

Synopsis

While Ema is walking home with Konomi Tatara, she asks her about an earlier incident in class in which Konomi accidentally released her Beast Power ability. Konomi explains that she was wondering if kisses feel good, which surprises Ema and she wonders if Konomi has a crush, which Konomi denies. Ema then asks Konomi if she would like to kiss her to satisfy her curiosity, which Konomi surprisingly seems to reciprocate. However, as Konomi seems to lean in for a kiss, the two are suddenly attacked by Yumeji Shimomura, and Konomi pushes Ema out of the way to protect her.

Her thorns are sharp and powerful enough that they were able to pierce the hand of a Devotee of the Eight Thunder Gods and force her to release her hold on Ema.
