The Invaders (侵攻する者達, Shinkō suru Monotachi) is the ninety-seventh chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
After bathing, Naruhime rushes and meets up with Jaku'un who asks if she is headed for the ceremony. Naruhime loudly confirms that she is so the Day of Purification will come faster. She then asks Jaku'un if the Devotees have attacked and reports that their attacks have just started. Naruhime asks if his experiments of turning humans into Shuuki will be successful, and he wonders the same, whether the humans will remain humans or become something greater.
At the 7th Unit dorm, Himari Azuma lies on her bed and considers that it has been a while since she and Yuuki Wakura last trained. She fears that, since it has been so long, his pent up desires might come out next she has to reward him, forcing her to do something indecent. Her contemplation is interrupted when Nei Ookawamura and Shushu Suruga barge in and alert her that they are being attacked by an army of Shuuki. A frustrated Himari remarks that that should be normal for them, but Nei informs her that the 3rd, 9th, 6th, and 2nd Units are under attack, indicating a coordinated effort. Himari fiercely declares they will show them the results of their training.
At the 6th Unit dorm, Tenka Izumo wipes out a swarm of Shuuki with her Ame-no-Mitori, while Yachiho Azuma cockily neutralizes some Devotees. A transformed Devotee attacks Yachiho from behind, but is knocked down by Sahara, who tells Yachiho not to keep her guard down. Unseen by them, a Devotee aims a sniping rifle at them from afar. The Devotee has the Peach blessing Deadline, which drastically increases the power and tracking ability of the bullets she fires as long she keeps her eye on her target. However, before the Devotee can fire on them, Tenka sneaks up on her and then transports her to Yachiho and Sahara. As the Devotee transforms, Tenka, Yachiho, and Sahara attack her all at once, neutralizing her. The Devotee is amazed that Tenka could sense her from so far away, and Tenka theorizes that it is because her sensitivity has gone up and that the Devotee will understand when she "falls in love". As another swarm of Shuuki attack, Tenka says they will wrap the battle up quickly as she wishes to assist the other Units. Tenka considers to herself that the enemies are in a different league than Aoba Wakura and that she can't beat them without holding back.
At then 2nd Unit dorm, Mira Kamiunten, assisted by Megumi Zaha uses her clones to destroy the attacking the Shuuki. Megumi asks if their are Peach ability users among the Shuuki and Mira replies that she is still scanning them. Megumi wonders if it is a terrorist attack, but Mira believes it is the work of the Eight Thunder Gods. Megumi further asks if they are manipulating or deceiving people so they will fight among themselves and Mira replies that they will have to capture them to figure it out. Mira looks at her phone and sees that the other Units and internally tells Yuuki to stay safe.
In the human world, Kyouka Uzen confronts the wounded Yumeji Shimomura, telling her she is there to apprehend her. Yumeji suggests that Kyouka will hand her over to the Onmyou Agency.
