The First's Chief (一番組組長, Ichi Bangumi Kumichō) is the ninety-sixth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
As the Slave reward takes effect, Konomi Tatara holds Yuuki Wakura's hand and concludes that her reward is a date. Nearby, Riu Myouga and her husband continue to slaughter the Shuuki with Yuuki and Konomi observing that this makes it a difficult environment for a date. Riu tells them to take care of the reward while she takes care of the Shuuki. Yuuki worries that the mountains are not an ideal place for a date, but Riu assures him that as long as the two enjoy talking to each other, then it's already a date.
As the two go for a walk, Yuuki apologizes to Konomi for their predicament, but Konomi says she is glad and that she felt very warm when she wore Yuuki as her armor. Konomi asks Yuuki if he ever went on a date in high school and Yuuki admits that he never did, but Konomi replies that she hasn't either due to her being in the Anti-Demon Corps, which scares men off. Yuuki asks Konomi why she joined the Anti-Demon Corps and she tells him about the time she encountered a Shuuki while in elementary school.
A flashback shows that a young Konomi bravely stood up to an invading Shuuki to protect her friends. However, before the Shuuki could attack, Konomi and her friends were saved by Riu who took note of Konomi's bravery.
Yuuki expresses his admiration for Konomi for becoming a Chief while still in high school, but Konomi says she still has a long way to go as she had to rely on Yuuki to defeat Yumeji Shimomura. Yuuki reassures her by exclaiming that she will definitely get stronger and Konomi thanks him.
As the battle continues around them, Yuuki suggests that they use their imagination to think of good places to go on a date. The two imagine going to the library, singing karaoke, seeing a kung-fu action movie, and enjoying the night view. As it grows quiet, Konomi suddenly lets her hair down and asks Yuuki to wrap his arms around her. Yuuki does so and Konomi observes how warm she feels again. Konomi then kisses Yuuki passionately, making her body even warmer. Internally, Konomi apologizes to Kyouka Uzen.
Meanwhile, Kyouka pursues Yumeji who is greatly injured and laments her predicament.
