The Skies of Mato (魔都上空, Mato Jōkū) is the eighty-seventh chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
At the 7th Unit Dorm, Yakumo Ezo requests to borrow Yuuki Wakura from Kyouka Uzen for a reconnaissance mission due to the increased activity of the Eight Thunder Gods. Yakumo teases Kyouka with a kiss and she reacts angrily.
Later, above the Mato skies, Yakumo, riding on Yuuki in his Phoenix form, uses her Night Storm to unleash an enormous gust of wind that clears all the clouds out of the sky. From the ground below, Kyouka spots a Gate, which she reports to Yakumo and Yuuki. Seeing that the Gate is about to close, Yakumo orders to go through it, despite his reservations that they might enter an enemy base.
After going through it, Yuuki and Yakumo find themselves near a small island in the human world. They land on the island, finding nothing unusual. Yuuki reverts to his human form and the Slave reward begins. Yakumo removes her uniform and presents her bare feet to Yuuki, instructing him to tickle her. Yuuki proceeds to tickle Yakumo's feet and then her waist, causing her to break out in laughter. Once the reward is completed, Yakumo declares she will pay Yuuki back by "messing him up" and embraces him. However, before Yakumo can get started, Tenka Izumo suddenly appears via Ame-no-Mitori and stops her. Yakumo declares that the three of them should "have fun" together, but Tenka reminds her they are on a mission. As Yakumo persists, Yuuki is impressed by her unwavering spirit.
Some time later, Yuuki mysteriously finds himself in his home neighborhood where Kuusetsu is waiting nearby. Yuuki realizes he is in his spiritual world and recalls falling asleep after the reconnaissance mission. Hoping to get information about the Thunder Gods, Yuuki approaches Kuusetsu and asks her about their location and abilities, but Kuusetsu replies that she doesn't want to. Kuusetsu promiscuously wonders if he will "ask" her body, but Yuuki counters that if he dies then Kuusetsu will die too. However, Kuusetsu simply laughs off his attempt to persuade her as "boring". Kuusetsu remarks that a human would be unable to defeat Taikyoku and that Yuuki would surely die if he fought her. Kuusetsu also informs Yuuki that she searched his entire memories and, based on that, there is one Thunder God he would be very surprised to meet. Yuuki wonders what she means, but Kuusetsu says she will not tell him anything else. As Kuusetsu vanishes, she apathetically remarks that if Yuuki dies then he dies. Left alone, Yuuki contemplates that Thunder Gods seem quite dangerous and wonders what they are planning.
