Mira's Resolve (美羅の決意, Mira no Ketsui) is the eighty-third chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
At the Hidden Village, Yuuki Wakura happily spends time with his sister, Aoba Wakura, and her friends Naon Yuno and Koko Zenibako, alongside Tenka Izumo. Aoba explains that Tenka was the one who brought her to and from Yokohama, and Tenka herself explains that she decided to notify Aoba after learning that the enemy they were facing was one who could conceal herself. Aoba goes on, explaining that Tenka has been giving the Humanoid Shuuki supplies and Tenka explains that, while she usually goes alone to reduce the risk of being found out, she figured Yuuki should join her this time. Yuuki expresses his gratitude to Tenka, and Naon and Koko give their thanks to Yuuki as well. Tenka and Aoba excuse themselves and Tenka informs Aoba that the Anti-Demon Corps are not looking into them at the moment as they are too preoccupied with the Shuuki that attacked Yokohama.
Meanwhile, Yuuki asks Naon and Koko how they are faring, and they reply that they are fine, though a bit sluggish. Surprisingly, Yuuki tells them he think he can help them recover. He then begins to massage Naon and Koko's bodies to great effect. Yuuki realizes that, for some reason, he has innate knowledge of the workings of their bodies, which he believes may be due to having Kuusetsu inside him. He completes the massage with Naon and Koko feeling fully energized. Yuuki then contemplates that he is dissatisfied with how some things went during the battle in Yokohama and, thus, resolves to get stronger.
Sometime later, a Chiefs' Assembly is held and Yakumo Ezo observes that the Shuuki attack on Yokohama has caused a public uproar. Bell Tsukiyono remarks on how busy Ren Yamashiro has been and Ren retorts that maybe she'll have Bell "comfort" her (much to Bell's horror). Ren commends Mira Kamiunten for her performance in protecting the citizens of Yokohama, but Fubuki Azuma and Yakumo lament that fighting in a battlefield where people have to be protected can be quite a hindrance to the Chiefs. Kyouka Uzen suggests taking a more aggressive approach. Ren states that the Mato Defense Corps will have to change course, though there are still many things they don't know about the Eight Thunder Gods. Yuuki contemplates that he may be able to ask Kuusetsu about it, but she hasn't appeared since his first encounter with her. Ren then declares that they will make a Mato Emergency Announcement, which will help them prepare to face the Thunder Gods, while also working closely with the human world.
Later, Kyouka and Mira have a sparring match while reviewing the battle against Kuusetsu, taking special note to how Mira lost to Kuusetsu. Kyouka defeats Mira, and Mira admits that she overextended herself towards the end of her fight with Kuusetsu. Yuuki (who is in his Slave form) offers that Mira had to protect the citizens, but Mira insists that she wanted to defeat Kuusetsu as well. Mira then asks Kyouka to lend Yuuki to her. Kyouka is surprised by the request and reminds Mira that she was unable to participate in Yuuki's reward before, but Mira insists she has resolved herself to do it. Kyouka is hesitant, but ultimately relents as she realizes they must get stronger as the other Thunder Gods will be even stronger than Kuusetsu. Mira grabs Yuuki's chain and he transforms into the Slave: Roar form.
