Brawl With a God (神との激闘, Kami to no Gekitō) is the seventy-sixth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
Kuusetsu recalls Shikoku telling her that human strength can greatly increase depending on their emotions, which Kuusetsu realizes is true as she fights a rigorous battle with Mira Kamiunten. In mid-air, Mira grabs Kuusetsu by the head and sends her plummeting forcefully to the ground, declaring it as payback for terrorizing Yokohama. However, before they reach the ground, Kuusetsu changes into her powered-up form and catches herself with just one hand with Mira releasing her to gain distance. Furious, Kuusetsu declares that she will deliver judgment upon Mira.
Although her opponent has changed forms, Mira maintains her strategy and gathers her remaining clones. Two of the clones attack Kuusetsu, but she declares that her strength is on another level as she quickly dispatches them. Mira then readies a punch, and Kuusetsu, believing it is another feint, activates her slippery skin, but Mira punches Kuusetsu faster than she can make herself slippery. Mira finishes with a powerful punch, but Kuusetsu is largely unaffected and she punches Mira away, with Mira realizing that Kuusetsu's stamina has increased. Believing she has located the real Mira based on her resistance, Kuusetsu bypasses another attacking clone and smashes Mira into the ground. However, Mira dissipates, revealing it had been another clone that Mira had managed to create. Kuusetsu is then attacked from both sides by the real Mira and another clone who punch her in the chest in back, resulting in a devastating blow. The clone dissipates, leaving only Mira, but Kuusetsu endures the attack and knocks Mira away.
Kuusetsu remarks that Mira may have been able to kill her if she had more clones and that this is the price she had to pay for using her clones to save the civilians. She suggests that Mira must have expected this, but Mira refutes her. As Mira gets back on her feet and discards her coat, she proudly declares that she had intended to save everyone and defeat her. Impressed by Mira's bravado, Kuusetsu introduces herself as one of the Eight Thunder Gods, and Mira introduces herself as the Chief of the 2nd Unit in turn. Kuusetsu states that Mira is beautiful, while Mira declares that she will show Kuusetsu the "soul" of the Anti-Demon Corps and the two rush each other for one final clash.
Meanwhile, Kyouka Uzen has defeated the giant Shuuki and rejoined Yuuki Wakura and transformed him into his Slave form as he has recovered from Kuusetsu's paralysis. As the two rush to meet up with Mira, Kyouka observes that Mira's clones were able to defeat all the Shuuki and save everyone, while Yuuki contemplates it is his turn to help Mira. The two soon arrive on the scene and are shocked to find Kuusetsu apparently in the process of absorbing Mira.
