In Yokohama (横浜にて, Yokohama Nite) is the seventy-first of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
At a police station in Yokohama, Sorako Azuma and Takemi Azuma show Kyouka Uzen, Mira Kamiunten, and Yuuki Wakura video footage of Kuusetsu abducting another woman. They report that they have confirmed the victims are still alive and should have their location by the following evening. Kyouka and Mira explain that they will handle combat and rescue, while the police handle tracking and encirclement. The police depart, saying they will inform Kyouka and Mira when they have located the victims.
Left alone, Kyouka and Mira discuss the abilities of the perpetrator with Kyouka remarking that "diving" was an ability of one of the Humanoid Shuuki the Eight Thunder Gods captured. She wonders if the Thunder Gods can steal abilities, which might explain the kidnappings, but Mira points out that none of the victims were powerful ability users. Amidst the discussion, Mira takes special note of Yuuki.
After finishing their briefing, Kyouka, Yuuki, and Mira ride on a gondola so they can get a good view of Yokohama and become familiar with the area. Kyouka then hands out some candy, with Mira remarking she must have picked up the habit from Riu Myouga. Yuuki wonders how long Kyouka and Mira have known each other and Mira replies that they have known each other since joining the Anti-Demon Corps. Before joining the Corps and getting her ability, Mira was already a very powerful fighter and was undefeated in Okinawa, until she lost to a barehanded fight with Kyouka. The two also became Chiefs around the same time and were assigned the two most dangerous regions of Mato. Yuuki concludes that the two are rivals and, suddenly, Kyouka and Mira stand up and face each other down fiercely, with both declaring they will become the Commander. Yuuki contemplates that he will have to do his part to help Kyouka beat her rival.
Later, at a restaurant, Mira informs Yuuki that she did not choose Kyouka for the mission because of her rivalry with her, but because she genuinely believes they'll be able to defeat the enemy together. Furthermore, although Mira wishes to be Commander, she will not do anything underhanded in her pursuit of her goal. She suggests that Yuuki not be rash and loudly proclaims that their lives come first, which is the soul of the Anti-Demon Corps.
While going on a stroll, Kyouka, Yuuki, and Mira observe how lively and pleasant the city is. Mira remarks that this is why she cannot forgive the enemy for abducting innocent people.
That evening, Kyouka takes a shower and is approached by Mira who asks what business she has been up to with Tenka Izumo, explaining that she has noticed the two have been communicating by exchanging glances. Kyouka confirms that there is something going on between them, but refuses to tell Mira about it. Kyouka says she will Mira when the time is right, which Mira begrudgingly accepts.
Shortly afterwards, Yuuki awakens and accidentally stumbles upon a naked Mira as she comes out of the bath. Yuuki tries to flee, fearing repercussion, but an embarrassed Mira stops him, saying it is not a big deal as they have to be able to move out at a moment's notice.
The next day, the police inform Kyouka and Mira of the victims' location. They arrive at the estate with Yuuki in his Slave form. A Shuuki suddenly appears, and Mira declares that she will use her ability to give it "Instant Death".
