A New Azuma (新たなる東, Aratanaru Azuma) is the sixty-fifth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
A powered-up Himari Azuma charges at Fubuki Azuma, declaring she will not forgive her for her insults against Kyouka Uzen. Suddenly, to her surprise, Fubuki takes back what she said about Kyouka and tells Himari to come at her with everything she has. Himari does so and the two clash. However, Himari quickly exhausts herself and collapses in Fubuki's arms as she extols Kyouka's virtues. Fubuki is pleased as Himari has shown her potential.
Meanwhile, Yachiho Azuma and Maia Azuma watch afar, also pleased with the outcome. Maia comments that Himari would not have shown her strength if Yachiho had interfered and that she should take care of herself from now on. Afterwards, Maia, who was working with Fubuki, and Yachiho, who only wanted to protect Himari, concede the match and the Azuma Banquet ends with Fubuki declared the winner and next head of the Azuma Family.
Later, Tobera Azuma heals Homare Azuma and the other injured family members. Yuuki Wakura is impressed upon hearing about Himari's performance during the battle, and Yachiho gives her some tips for Golden Hour. Himari then wonders how she can possibly use her Learning ability more effectively, but Kyouka assures her that they will find a way to break the affinity barrier. Tobera supports this notion and declares that Himari is a splendid Azuma. She then suggests that Himari birth many babies for the family, pointing out that she already has Yuuki as her man. This frustrates the others as Tobera is still demonstrating her tyranny.
Fubuki then confronts Tobera and commands her to be quiet, which infuriates Tobera. Fubuki then condemns the meritocracy that Tobera forced upon them and drove wedges between the family. She proclaims that the Azuma Family has fallen from grace and also demands that Tobera stop wearing a schoolgirl uniform. Tobera furiously attacks her, but Fubuki easily subdues her with her Sunset, declaring she is now the head of the family. She further points out that Tobera has gotten weaker and she will take her down if necessary. Ultimately, Tobera concedes and observes that Fubuki has gotten stronger, allowing her to do as she wishes.
Fubuki declares that she will continue to ensure the Azumas are strong, but hopes the family members will be able to get along better going forward. She also tells Homare and Yumina Azuma that she will re-discipline them with love. Fubuki asks for Tenka Izumo's continued cooperation, which she agrees to, and apologizes to Kyouka for the negative things she said about her, while also thanking her for training Himari. Fubuki then tells Himari that she cannot leave yet as she wishes to review their battle together, which Himari agrees to.
Meanwhile, Kuusetsu descends from the sky and overlooks a human city, calling it the "world of the living".
