The Commander's Battle (会議開始, Kaigi Kaishi) is the forty-eighth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
As the Chiefs observe the Shuuki approaching the 10th Unit headquarters, Kyouka Uzen transforms Yuuki Wakura with her Slave ability and asks Ren Yamashiro to be sent to the battle. Ren ignores her, however, and comments on how strong Yuuki looks. Konomi Tatara reports that enemies were only ordinary Shuuki. Mira Kamiunten adds that they have defeated them, but should look out for any reinforcements. Yakumo Ezo reports that many of the Shuuki exploded when they were defeated and Fubuki Azuma adds that someone must have give them that ability. Yuuki is shocked by how quickly the Chiefs defeated the Shuuki. Ginna Bizen informs Ren that their search squad has identified five people four kilometers to the south of them who are evidently the perpetrators. Ren says she will deal with them and orders Kyouka to follow her while the others hold down the fort. Ren speeds off through the air.
At the designated site, a group of terrorists prepare to send a second wave of Shuuki to attack the Anti-Demon Corps headquarters. One of the terrorists asks that they be sure they reach the base this time so as not waste her bombing ability. Suddenly, Ren arrives and deduces that they are terrorists from another country. The terrorists retaliate as one of them tries to petrify Ren in place by staring at her, but it proves unsuccessful. Ren facetiously comments that the terrorists were evidently trying to blow up Mato headquarters. Another terrorists yells and a burst of energy erupts from her mouth, but Ren kicks it right back at her. Ren observes that the ability must have had something to do with words. Ren further comments that Anti-Demon Corps was created to protect Mato's resources from people like the terrorists and she immediately neutralizes the petrification woman. One of the terrorists unleashes a incredibly muscular wild man, calling him the world's strongest human, but Ren easily defeats him. The terrorist fires her gun at Ren, but she deflects the bullets and knocks her down. The sole remaining terrorist attempts to use her bombing ability to blow up the whole area, but Ren nullifies her ability before she can detonate. Ren explains that, as a child, she would get excited from seeing maps of remote areas, thrilled by the adventure of exploring undiscovered places. She taps the terrorist's head and asks that she take a look at the bottom of a distant sea. Suddenly, the terrorist finds herself submerged beneath the ocean and her body succumbs to water pressure.
Afterwards, Kyouka and Yuuki arrive, but Ren tells her they are late as she is already done. Yuuki is surprised by how one-sided the battle seems to have been, but Kyouka comments that Ren's performance is impressive as always thanks to her Peach blessing ability, Vairocana.
