Counting The Votes is the one-hundred-and-forty-eighth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
Yuuki awakens and finds himself groping a barely clothed Himari who irritably tells him that he has to make breakfast. Yuuki believes he is having a dream with Fukuma, but then realizes it's real as Himari explains that it is his reward after training with her during the night. As Yuuki gets dressed, Himari expresses her anxiety over the upcoming election, but Yuuki tells her they must believe in Kyouka. Himari says there is some lint on him and then kisses him, afterwards begrudging how indecent it is.
Later, the election takes place and all eligible parties cast their votes. Tenka and Kyouka explain to Yuuki that the Election Overseeing Committee is using an ability to ensure that no cheating takes place, while Riu oversees all aspects of the election. Meanwhile, Ren remains assured of her victory and that Yuuki will soon belong to her.
Elsewhere, Himari, Tobera, Naon, and Koko head to the election to watch the results. Naon wishes for Kyouka to defeat Ren.
With everyone assembled and the votes cast, Riu begins to read the results. Ren's vote goes to herself and Kyouka's vote goes to herself. Varvara's vote goes to Kyouka to Ren's mild surprise. Iori's vote goes to Ren and Tenka's vote goes to Kyouka. Ren contemplates that Tenka is talented, but hard to handle, and will have to follow up on her previous statement about "love". Bell is internally concerned for Ren, believing she is too confident about the election. Mira's vote goes to Kyouka, putting her two votes ahead of Ren. Riu then reads Konomi's vote, one of the swing votes, and Kyouka is dismayed to see that her vote goes to Ren.
A flashback shows that, the previous night, Ren revealed one of her abilities to Konomi, showing her trust in her and swaying Konomi's vote.
Only Reiko, Bell, Yakumo, and Fubuki's votes remain and Ren is assured she will win all of them. Kyouka, meanwhile, remains confident that she will win, despite not getting Konomi's vote. Sensing this, Himari is delighted and Tobera is impressed as a Commander needs fighting spirit. Riu reads Yakumo's vote next.
