Towards Shangri-La, Once More is the one-hundred-and-thirty-seventh chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
Yuuki, Kyouka, and Himari arrive at the Anti-Demon Corps headquarters for the Commander Election meeting. They are greeted by Ginna who informs them that the Shangri-La ability has been improved so that many more people can go into it at once. Himari admits her surprise at being called to the meeting, and Yuuki and Kyouka assure her it will be a good opportunity for her. Yuuki also expresses his surprise at how calm Kyouka is, but she assures him that she is prepared and will do all she can to win.
Back at the 7th Unit dorm, Haruno Kue has returned to take charge in Kyouka's absence. She notices that Shushu appears upset and Shushu expresses her anxiety over the upcoming election. Haruno attempts to reassure her and explains the rules of the election:
- Commanders are selected via vote (voters must include their names).
- Eleven people hold voting rights: The current Anti-Demon Corps Chiefs, the Minister of the Defense, and the Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense.
- Three officials will oversee the election, ensuring that it is fairly administered.
Shushu continues to express her doubts as Ren will most assuredly have several votes locked in, and Kyouka's chances may be further compromised if there are several candidates. However, Nei assuages her fear by telling them to believe in Kyouka.
At the Thunder Gods' hideout, Naruhime angrily asks why it is taking Shikoku so long to reach an agreement with the humans. Shikoku tries to assure her that the humans will take a while to reach a decision and, if worse comes to worst, they can still destroy them on the Day of Purification. Shikoku departs and Jouryuu explains to Naruhime that Shikoku is playing it cautiously so they don't lose any more Thunder Gods. Dissatisfied, Naruhime declares that maybe she should defeat the Chiefs herself, but Jouryuu advises against it.
Inside Shangri-La, Yuuki, Kyouka and Himari meet up with Yoshino Ookawamura, Manager of the Mato Equipment Research Institute, and Nei's grandaunt, who is her current foster parent. Yoshino expresses her gratitude to Yuuki as he has evidently made Nei happier and helped her get better at housecleaning. Yoshino and Kyouka discuss the upcoming election, and Yoshino points out Tobera and Wakako Kinokuni, Superintendent of the Onmyou Agency, who are attending as advisors. In addition to them are the Minister of Defense, Reiko Imabou, the Inspector General, Iori Yamori, and Riu Myouga and two other unnamed women who are acting as the election overseers. Kyouka takes special notice of Kinokuni and notes that she will be able to settle all of the outstanding conflicts in Shangri-La.
Elsewhere in Shangri-La, Yuuki cleans a room and is met by Tenka who arrives via Ame-no-Mitori. Tenka informs him that she was able to infiltrate the Onmyou Agency without detection and everything has been prepared for this day. Yuuki expresses his gratitude to Tenka, but she is suddenly overcome with emotion and kisses Yuuki. She then begins to disrobe, explaining that she has held herself back from him for so long and now her love for him is overflowing.
