Gathering is the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.
Summary[]
At the Chiefs' Assembly, Ren reveals her intention to agree to the proposal made by the Gods of Thunder. Kyouka is the first to object, saying that there has been too much blood for there to be any peace. This is followed by Varvara, saying that the Bell impersonation incident leaves no room for doubt of the Thunder Gods' true intention. Afterwards, Tenka asks Ren if the only reason that Ren agrees to the proposal is because she believes she can prepare against any plan the gods of thunder could come up with. Ren counters with asking why Tenka is so scared despite the fact that three Gods have already been slain. Mira interjects, saying that the Kuusetsu incident made it clear how easy it is for the Gods to harm civilians and that victory doesn't mean much if it is bought with the blood of the innocent. The rest of the Chiefs, however, express more moderate view points, preferring to hear out the Gods of Thunder before making their decision. Tenka and Kyouka do not object to this, because they know the election is to be held before the meeting with the Gods, meaning that the decision will only really be made after the election. However, while they are thinking of this, Ren opens the discussion to Yuuki. Yuuki asks why he would be allowed to talk, to which Yakumo points out that he is by far the most knowledgeable regarding the Gods of Thunder, being the only person present at each incident. Yuuki then replies that he genuinely believes that the Gods are incapable of peace.
Meanwhile in Yuuki's spirit world, Kuusetsu, Fukuma, and Rairen lament the fact that Yuuki has learned so much about them, confirming that Shikoku will never give up their fight against the humans.
Meanwhile, in the Thunder Gods' main base, Shikoku and Jouryuu observe that the humans will almost certainly accept their proposal due to Ren's hubris. Meanwhile, Jaku'un creates a curse capable of inflicting Godly Retribution onto many people at once. Shikoku believes that, while the curse may not destroy Ren, it will make her the last living human.
