Chapter 135

Ren and Bell is the one-hundred-and-thirty-fifth chapter of the Mato Seihei no Slave manga.

Summary[]

In the human world, Ren and Bell enjoy an outing at a restaurant. Seeing that Bell is unusually quiet, Ren asks what's on her mind and Bell replies that their current location is not the best place to talk about work. Ren concedes and takes Bell to the 10th Unit Headquarters.

At headquarters, the two disrobe to go into the hot springs, and Bell admits that she wonders if they can trust the Thunder Gods' proposal. Ren then reminds Bell about the time her home in Kyoto was attacked.

Some time ago, while taking her dogs Kaname & Miyabi home for a visit, Ren is contacted by a terrorist organization while she is away. The group threatens to kill her dogs and her parents unless she releases members of their group who had previously infiltrated Mato and are now imprisoned. Ren arrogantly dismisses their demands, claiming that hostages will not work on her. In response, the terrorists invade her home, where they quickly Kaname and Miyabi, intent on making examples out of them. However, Kaname and Miyabi, having consumed Mato Peaches, promptly transform much larger monstrous forms and easily subdue the terrorists.

Back in present day, the two bathe in the hot springs, Ren assures Bell that this demonstrates that she can handle any traps thrown at her. Bell argues that the Gods are a bigger threat than terrorists, but Ren in unconcerned, certain that she can "punish" anyone who threatens her. Ren then playfully grabs at Bell's cheeks as she points out she also has Bell to support her. Bell promises she will do all she can to help Ren.

Some time later, a Chiefs' Assembly is held to discuss the Thunder Gods' proposal.
