Background[]
Several decades ago, mysterious gates suddenly appeared around Tokyo leading to the demonic metropolis dubbed Mato (
Purpose[]
Structure[]
Head Commander[]
The absolute leader of the Anti-Demon Corps.
Chief[]
The chief is the one who is in command of a unit. They are the strongest and most influential members apart from the Head Commander.
Vice-Chief[]
Second in command in a unit.
Members[]
Women who become members of the organization must submit a written request to the government and go through a rigorous selection process before being able to consume a Peach under close supervision.
Anti-Demon Corps Units[]
The Anti-Demon Corps is split into units, numbered one through ten (excluding the unlucky fourth). All units reside inside dorms built inside of Mato itself and are protected by a barrier, which keeps Shuuki from invading. These dorms are located at nine different sections of Mato where gates leading into the real world exist, including the central location.
1st Unit[]
1st Unit (一番組, Ichi Bangumi) is located in the northern area of Mato.
2nd Unit[]
2nd Unit (二番組, Ni Bangumi) is located in the northeastern area of Mato. Like the 7th Unit, Shuuki appear frequently in their region, necessitating a specialized scout.[1]
3rd Unit[]
3rd Unit (三番組, San Bangumi) is located in the eastern area of Mato.
5th Unit[]
5th Unit (五番組, Go Bangumi) is located in the southeastern area of Mato. The Unit has skilled healers,[2] and it's Gate connects to Yamagata.[3]
6th Unit[]
6th Unit (六番組, Roku Bangumi) is located in the southern area of Mato. Some of its members are indisposed and have not made an appearance.[4]
7th Unit[]
7th Unit (七番組, Shichi Bangumi) is located in the southwestern area of Mato. Several members of the 7th are away in the caves underneath the 10th Unit.[4][5] Like the 2nd Unit, Shuuki appear frequently in their region, necessitating a specialized scout.[1] It's Gate connects to Shikoku.[6]
8th Unit[]
8th Unit (八番組, Hachi Bangumi) is located in the western area of Mato. Most of its members appear to be of non-Japanese descent.
9th Unit[]
9th Unit (九番組, Kyuu Bangumi) is located in the northwestern area of Mato. Many of its members are from the Azuma Family.[7]
10th Unit[]
10th Unit (十番組, Juu Bangumi) is located in the center of Mato. The 10th Unit has 3 permanent gates,[8] and observes all of Mato to warn units of any abnormalities in their respective regions.[1]
Trivia[]
- Yuuki Wakura is technically the lone male member of the Anti-Demon Corps since he is linked to the 7th Unit Chief, Kyouka Uzen as her Slave, but since he's a male, he's just considered their slave and caretaker.
- The lack of a 4th Unit in the Anti-Demon Corps is a reference to the fact that the kanji for Four (四, Shi) sounds similar to Death (死, Shi).
- The 7th unit has the most named members of all the Anti-Demon corps divisions.
